We’ve decided to put the Improv Jam on hold while the COVID-19 situation plays out. It’s a massive shame but it’s also what’s best.
We’re looking at establishing an online Jam of some kind — an “eJam”, if you will — so keep an eye out for that.
Part of the reason ImproQuo started was that we felt there wasn’t nearly enough opportunity for people to have a go at improv as a way of performing and having some fun, and before ImproQuo was formed we had actually started up the Manchester Improv Jam.
This weekly improv jam is a free and accessible drop-in session for anyone and everyone who wants to try their hand at improv. It’s a playful and judgement free space where everyone is free to simply have fun.
What to expect:
- A chance to be introduced to the basics and varieties of improv
- A supportive and playful environment
- A space to try new things
- An opportunity to socialise with all kinds of people
The Jam takes place every Thursday, 7.30pm–9.30pm at the Salford Arms Hotel; arriving on time is strongly encouraged and there’s no need to register with us, just show up.
If structure is more your thing, see if we have any comedy courses/classes running sometime soon.
